109 tons of fruit and vegetable waste was diverted in 2011 ( updated 1/01/12)

17 tons diverted in January 2012…a great start to the year

As of December 2011 we now have 4 grocery stores in Fond du Lac area (3 in FDL and 1 in Ripon) that participate in our landfill diversion project.  They compost all of their fruit & vegetable waste instead of putting it in the dumpster-ultimately ending up in the landfill. 

The store that are participating are: Ric & Vic’s Piggly Wiggly and 2 Pick n Save’s all loacted in Fond du Lac plus Ripon’s Pick n Save. 

At the Living Green Expo 2012, Compost Joe’s was interviewed by Good Day Wisconsin.
